Simeon, the “New Theologian” (970-1040), wrote:
We are the limbs of Christ; Christ is our limbs. And my hand, the hand of the poorest creature, is Christ and my foot is Christ.... I move my foot, it shines as he does. Say not that I blaspheme, but confirm this and adore Christ, who has made you so. For you too, if you will, can become his limb.
