It is natural to look inwardly when one is feeling a financial pinch. However, I see that there is still a need to care and to give in spite one's economic problems. After all, there is often people more needy than ourselves.
I like the principle of tithing - give 10% regardless of how tough the situation is. Ie. give less when there is less and more when there is more, but giving is always proportional to receiving. However, I also see that it is easier to give a greater percentage when one has more and a lesser percentage when one has less.
