Surgery

The brain biopsy was completed as planned. No problems with the surgery. I now have a hole in my head (behind my right ear).

The surgeon just left my room and he is sending me home. He had said I would be in ICU overnight, but I did well enough he just sent me to a regular room. And now I am doing well enough I can just go home.

The site of the biopsy is sore. I couldn't get comfortable enough to sleep last night. I am pretty tired today.

The pathology report is not back yet. No news. I am getting accostomed to waiting.

I should be home by dinner tonight.

Well, I knew that your head would most certainly explode one of these days (you just know know too much) I am relieved to know that you now have a pressure relief valve (so when you hear too much hot air you can just tweak it a bit). Glad to hear you are convalescing so well. Know you are never far from my heart my friend. Take care.

Charles and Katherine,
The blog is a fab idea that will save you a tremendous amount of energy in telling and retelling your story. It saved what little sanity I had left when Courtney was sick.

I don't pretend to know the emotions that you and the kids are going through right now. There are so many people thinking about you and praying for you. I hope you are able to feel their love as go on this rollercoaster journey. Please know that I will be thinking of you daily.
Fondly, Jennifer Pearson

As always, you're all in our thoughts. It sounds like things went as well as they could. Still, it's a startling moment. I've tried and tried to avoide the phrase, "like you need a hole in the head." Take care, and the offer is always good if you need anything-- I'm just down the hill.

What wonderful news that they kicked you out of the hospital. I've watched too many Dr. House shows in recent months, I guess.

Sitting here (re)editing Edith's wedding video you officiated at a year ago makes me realize how much we all miss your smiling face and wonderful warm grace. Rest well while we all pray for fast resolution to this strange disease you're fighting. There isn't a day that goes by without you in our thoughts and prayers.

Love to you and your family.
